I have had the privilege to know Juli Pierce for more than eight years. I am confident the citizens of this community will benefit greatly if Juli became judge.

Juli was a prosecutor for the Yellowstone County Attorney’s Office for 13 years. Juli prosecuted some of the most difficult cases in Yellowstone County — child abuse, domestic abuse and sexual abuse crimes. It is the job of a prosecutor to seek justice. I believe Pierce has the skills and temperament to ensure justice is served as a judge.

In Pierce’s tenure as a prosecutor, she personally tried nearly 40 jury trials. Her trial experience is unmatched by any of the judicial candidates. As a prosecutor, Pierce was also involved with multiple treatment courts in Yellowstone County, recognizing that pairing justice with rehabilitation creates a safer and healthier community. This is instrumental in a well-rounded district court judge.

Pierce has a broad base of legal experience focusing on areas of law that comprise more than 75 percent of the District Court’s docket. Her career has focused on criminal law, child abuse and neglect, and civil law. Pierce will make an immediate impact once sworn in as judge.

Pierce is well rounded and public-service oriented. She has served in a variety of positions in the State Bar of Montana and boards and committees in the community. As a Billings native she has dedicated her time to serving Yellowstone County.

Please join me in voting for Juli Pierce for District Court Judge in Department 8.
